Physicians And Other Health Professionals
Physicians and other health professionals (such as nurses, physician assistants, chiropractors, physical therapists, and a range of other practitioners) provide care for Medicare’s beneficiaries. They provide and perform a broad range of services, including office visits, surgical procedures, and a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic services. The Commission analyzes trends in care and spending on services provided by these professionals and makes recommendations to the Congress and the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
