Paul N. Casale, M.D., M.P.H., is a Professor of Population Health Sciences in the Division of Health Policy and Economics, a Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at Weill Cornell Medical College, and an Adjunct Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. He previously served as the Executive Director of NewYork Quality Care, an accountable care organization that is a joint initiative of NewYork-Presbyterian, Columbia University, and Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Casale has served on many national committees including the chair of the Physician-Focused Payment Model Technical Advisory Committee (PTAC) and a member of the Advisory Council of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. Dr. Casale’s research focuses on clinical cardiology, value-based care, and payment reform. He has held multiple leadership positions in various healthcare settings including a rural private practice, a regional health system, and a large urban academic medical center. Dr. Casale earned his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College, completed training in cardiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School and earned his Master of Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health.
